- work within a bedroom. While this seems an obvious option because of the ability to close a door for privacy, there may not be room to add the dedicated desk/workspace. Many home buyers are looking for larger bedrooms to allow for work from home / distance learning.
- open floor plan. This allows the kids to work at the kitchen table while they are all within the same general area of the home. For generations this has been the case. Don’t you remember doing homework at the kitchen table? We do. The spacious kitchen/family room combo makes it easier for home learning without (more?) clutter.
- Another option, which wasn’t as popular pre-2020, is the separate formal dining room which can also be converted easily into a workspace.
